How Did We Get Started?
Yarra Valley Waste is the new kid on the block, offering front lift bin waste collections to local industry, businesses, and the private sector in the Yarra Valley and surrounding regions. Managing Director, Corey Jeffs, is the third generation of his family in Waste Management. His Grandfather, William Jeffs and his father, Mark Jeffs, started WM Waste Management with just one truck over 36 years ago, servicing the Greater Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, including the Yarra Valley. WM Waste Management has over 90 trucks in its fleet and employs over 120 permanent and casual staff
Corey would help his father on weekends in the family business, washing trucks , moving bins around the yard, and preparing trucks for the week ahead. In 2013, Corey left Australia to go to the USA and attend college and to follow his dream to play collegiate basketball.
On his return to Australia, Corey and Mark were exploring opportunities to expand the family business. With Mark running WM Waste Management and speaking with many of his customers, he found that there was a lot of talk regarding the inflated cost of having a front lift bin collection services in the Yarra Valley. So, with the full backing of Mark’s 36 years experience in the waste management industry and the solid established foundation of WM Waste Management, Yarra Valley Waste was born.
